The Sword of Rakash (Part 3)
The boy had done well thought Ahktor to himself as he draped the large fishing net over the washed up Merphybian that lay supine on the white sand of the beach. The boy was motioned to stay behind his surrogate father as he worked the stakes in the sand through the mesh of the net. Ahkater methodically tightened the four ends of the mesh over the creature to create the most tension he could before applying each stake to insure a strong hold. When all four limbs of the creature were pressed down by the net with maximum pressure the man came beside his boy to look at his handy work.
Ahktar feared what this creature who was a representative of the ones he had recently just been reading about to his boy from the Royal Archeologist Book was capable of. As if on cue the creature murmured as it tested the restraints of the net on its body. Fortunately, the creature was not itself fully as it seemed to be in a trance type of state. The barrel of fish which the boy had also brought was a safeguard to appease the creature if he busted loose from its bonds.
Then the creature muttered the word, "Rakash..."
Endo, the boy wanted to say something but was signaled not to by his father.
Instead, Endos father grabbed him in order to bring them both back to the house. The kettle of fish was left a way in the sand not far from the green amphibious creature who was becoming more animated. Though in its disorientated state the creatures' movements appeared in slow motion. Then the creature muttered another word for which might have alarmed Ahktor if he had heard the creature say it.
It was the word, Sword.
Though as the creature flailed its body as it may be searched its own thoughts for meaning a line of marching bright red crabs emerged from the sea. The crabs came to the aide of the Merphibian as they used there enlarged right claws to cut through the mesh of the net. This caused the pinned sea creature to raise its voice in a cry of what seemed like redemption!
The small crabs where persistent yet did only minimal damage to the tough mesh of the fishing net.
Though where the crabs were struggling, perhaps with the help of a flotilla of seagulls could the fishing net be cut open!
The Merphibian must have sensed the aide from its brethren because it began to apply upward pressure to free itself. The round yellow scaly portion of the creatures' eyes were almost closed save for two thin slits as it began to assert itself more to the cause of freeing itself. Then finally, the upper body strength of the creature popped both the stakes across his arms away!
It took a while longer for the creature to unravel itself from the net but eventually it was done.
The creature proceeded to first stand up awkwardly before heading in the direction of the house on the hill in the distance. Though as the creature lumbered along its path with the seagulls flying in the direction of its destination those within the house where none the wiser.
Ahktor had his son waiting in the living room for him until he found what he was looking for within his study. The boy did not ask what his father was looking for as he patiently waited in his chair. Then the boy's father came out with the headphones that would be bestowed to him as a gift. The broad headphones played bee harmonics that Endo often listened to for relaxation as well as to help him focus.
"You need to stay inside this house.", the father told his son.
Endo asked in a rather high-pitched voice," What are your intentions, father?"
"Never you mind son, just stay here until I return.", the father instructed.
The boy did as he was told even though he was unsure of himself as he did.
Then no sooner had Ahktor ventured onto the front porch a seagull snatched the headphones out of his hand!
"What on Eternos is going on?", Ahktar screamed upon seeing the flock of seagulls flying above him.
The distraction of the aggressive seagulls almost prevented Ahktar from seeing the large object being flung at him from the beach below him! It was the creature gurgling something before hurling the large kettle drum of fish up towards him!
Fortunately for Ahktar he was fast enough to re-enter his house before the drum passed by him before crashing through the wooden railings of the porch on the other side!
"Come on Endo, we have to leave through the front door of the house! We can escape to the town on foot then rent a ride!", the father told his son.
"You were going to communicate with the creature, weren't you? Sooth the creature with the bee harmonics of the headphones, then what?" , asked the fathers son.
A wide-eyed father in panic tried to calm himself as he answered his curiously calm son, "Yes and yes if only to send the creature back out to sea and away from here! Now come on this is not the time to disobey me!"
Suddenly, the back door to the porch was forced open by the creature from the ocean! The sudden break in by the creature caused another action to take place. Within his broad helmet Endos face had become wired with strange blue circuitry around two blank silver eyes.
Then before the creature could take another aggressive action, the boy opened its blue lips to emit a buzzing sound!
Ahktar stood in shock at seeing his son activate his robotic persona which was more akin to his superego. The more rationalized, neutral state of the boys artificially enhanced state of three hybrid minds. It was a joy to behold for the father as he watched his son neutralize the confused menace who had just broken into his house.
The bee harmonics it seemed had placed the Merphibian creature into a subdued state. The father came forward as he placed his hand reassuringly on his son's shoulder.
Ahktar asked the creature in its subdued trance like state, "What do you seek, here?"
The creature could not define what it wanted as it gargled for its words.
"My name is Ahktor and this is my son Endo, who are you?", the sons father asked the bewildered creature who was seemingly becoming less and less menacing.
"I...do not...know...", pleaded the creature.
The yellow armor across the chest of the creature meant that it was a warrior but of what class, thought Ahktor.
Though even though Ahktor did not want to remind the creature of its status, he needed to help it re-form its identity.
"You are an outcast?", Ahktor bluntly asked the creature which caused it to cock its head in recognition.
"You are a soldier?", Ahktor quicky asked.
"Above soldier...was a soldier...", the creature was beginning to remember.
Ahktar repeated what the creature murmured when it lay trapped under his fishing net before, "Rakash."
The creature simply repeated the word, "Rakash."
The eyes of the creature opened wide to reveal its oval stare as it states,"I am warlord..."
The blank stare of the creature searched the room until it stays cast on the Royal Archeological Book which still lay on the table, ope from where it was last read from.
The creature reached out at the book, stating," You read to me from book?"
For clarification, Ahktar asked, "You want me to read from that book?"
Ahktar knew where he had left off in the book when he was reading it to his son. It would be risky, yet once the word of the Merphibians God was evoked that just might be enough to break it from the spell it was under.
Ahktar decided to take that chance with a twist that could benefit himself as well as his son in escaping from under the imperialism of the Gar-Shan once and for all.
The book was taken up by Ahktar who opened it to the where he last read from. There was a picture on the adjacent page...the picture of a sword.
Ahktar scanned the page to where he wanted to read from...until he found it.
Then in a low voice amidst the ambiance of the bee harmonics kept up by his son, Ahktar read aloud...
